When to call us in Swinfen

Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.

Look out for these signs:

  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
  • Chips and rust in more than one place

What your quote should include

  • If travel is included in the price
  • What preparation is included
  • How your room will be protected
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included

About our bath re-enamelling in Swinfen

After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. Our technicians work on acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths, and the jobs we see most are worn patches where water runs and sits and a peeling or bubbling previous coating.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

What affects the price in Swinfen

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • The material and finish
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed quote

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A picture taken from further back
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.

What happens on the day

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow most of the day. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the day after.

How to prepare

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Swinfen questions

What information do you need?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Do you cover the whole of Staffordshire?

We cover the whole UK, including Swinfen and the rest of Staffordshire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll offer you dates.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.

Can you change the colour of my bath?

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.

What we cannot put right

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • A bath that’s rusted through
  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Repair dripping taps early

Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.

Why repair rather than replace?

If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is typically much cheaper than replacing it, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Swinfen. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Colour-matched on site
