Bath re-enamelling for Terriers homes

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Terriers

Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and we can resurface acrylic baths as well. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. Whether it’s a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and lots of chips and rust spots, we can generally put it right, on basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths alike.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we have gone.

Honest limits

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths

What happens on the day

You do not need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take the best part of a day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Common questions in Terriers

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

Will there be fumes?

A little, during the work. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

What happens if you find more damage?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Should you replace it?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and generally one day, with the bath ready the next day. Prices start from £350. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Buckinghamshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Terriers

Previous coatings can fail too, lifting by the plughole or blistering. We strip what’s failing and start again.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • An old resurfacing that is failing
  • A coloured bath you want in white

Questions to ask before booking

  • How your room will be protected
  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • Who will actually do the work

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How much damage there is
  • The material

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Send pictures for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

If you are in Terriers and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
