Bath re-enamelling in The Grove without replacing anything
We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, and we take our time over it. We are often asked to fix a peeling or bubbling previous coating and a bath in a colour that no longer suits, in cast iron baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in The Grove and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

How it works
Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take most of the day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Before we arrive
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Open a window if you can

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Related advice
Can I fix it myself?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
What we can’t put right
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Holes rusted through the metal
- Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to The Grove. The price depends on:
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The colour and finish to match
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Quotes from your photos
Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- One picture of the whole bath
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
For a price in The Grove, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
Why repair rather than replace?
A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing renews the entire surface with the bath left where it is. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

The Grove questions
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
When can you do it?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
Yes. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Does re-enamelling smell?
A little, during the work. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
Can you resurface a pink bath in white?
Yes, most people go for white. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.
Landlords, agents and businesses in The Grove
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Aftercare tips
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Never use suction bath mats
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
