Bath re-enamelling in The Heath

FAQs for The Heath

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We come back with a fixed price, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide, and that includes The Heath. Prices do not change with location.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

How we handle bath re-enamelling in The Heath

After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. Typical jobs include enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough and lots of chips and rust spots, on cast iron baths, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

What happens on the day

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes the best part of a day. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

How to prepare

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Getting a price

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. There is no charge for travel to The Heath. The price depends on:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many areas need work
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Quotes from your photos

Phone photos are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures through our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

Keeping it looking good

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • Don’t leave a chip unrepaired

Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in The Heath as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

If you manage property in The Heath, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we’ll price them together.

Repair or replace in The Heath?

Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the whole room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for The Heath. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

  • A bath that’s rusted through
  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.
