Need bath re-enamelling in The Village?

The Village: your questions answered

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole UK, including The Village and the rest of South Lanarkshire. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

What happens after I send photos?

You will get a fixed quote back. There’s no obligation to book.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

How much does bath re-enamelling cost in The Village?

Resurfacing from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before booking.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

How we handle bath re-enamelling in The Village

The bath stays where it is, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the following day. If you’re dealing with an old resurfacing that’s failing and several chips and rust patches, we can typically put it right, on basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths alike.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

How the visit works

Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes most of the day, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

Should you replace it?

There are times replacing is better: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. Otherwise, resurfacing generally wins. Prices start from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in The Village?

Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, lifting by the plughole or blistering. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • Several chips and rust patches
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough

10 questions to ask before booking

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The material
  • How many areas need work

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Something in shot to show the size

Most customers in The Village get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

What we cannot put right

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • Holes rusted through the metal

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.

Aftercare tips

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath

The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
