Bath re-enamelling in Turves

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Turves

Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. Several coats of finish go on over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. Typical jobs include brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring, across Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and acrylic baths.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a bath usually involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the following day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

What you get with us

  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

See our pricing and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Do not leave a chip unrepaired
  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away

Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading and make the job bigger. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

When we would advise against a repair

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Turves

Will the new finish last?

Care for it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

Do you cover the entire of Cambridgeshire?

Across the UK, so Turves is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

Will the bath be moved?

Not at all. We work on the bath in place, with the room masked and ventilated.

Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Do you come to Turves?

We do. We send a technician to Turves for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

What information do you need?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

When to call us in Turves

Frequently the bath has just had decades of use, and only the surface is worn. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is typically as strong as ever.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
  • A coating lifting around the plughole
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • Wear marks under the taps

What to look for in a quote

  • Aftercare advice
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • How your room will be protected

How to compare quotes

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Turves. The price depends on:

  • How many areas need work
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

How to get a fixed quote

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or call us. We will say immediately whether it can be repaired.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we are there, the work takes most of the day for most jobs. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Ask for a price

Send us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your PE7 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
