About our bath re-enamelling in Uwchmynydd
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Whether it’s wear marks under the taps and lots of chips and rust spots, we can normally put it right, on cast iron baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops alike.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Work for landlords and builders
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll arrange it.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Uwchmynydd use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it usually costs far less than a refit.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Uwchmynydd. What changes the price is:
- The colour and finish to match
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How many items we do on one visit
- What kind of damage it is
Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
How to get a fixed price
Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:
- Details of any past repairs
- Where you are, by postcode
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
What your bath is made of matters
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
The process
We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a full day in most cases. The room is left tidy.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
Ask for a price
Email us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your LL53 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
Advice
Repair or replace: which is better?
A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and generally one day, with the bath ready the day after. Prices start from £350. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Why Uwchmynydd clients choose us

Uwchmynydd: your questions answered
How long is the bath unusable?
Most baths are done in a day and can be used the day after. We will confirm timings when we quote.
Is there a smell?
There is some smell while the coating is applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.
Will the bath be moved?
Not at all. We work on the bath in place, with the room masked and ventilated.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Typically, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.
Are there extra charges for Uwchmynydd?
We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Will it make a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Can you price it without visiting?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.
Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Uwchmynydd
Many baths we resurface have simply been well used. The body of the bath is normally perfectly sound.
Send us a picture if you notice any of these:
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- Several chips and rust patches
- A coloured bath you want in white
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
Comparing quotes

- Whether a trained technician does the job
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- How to look after the finish
Can I fix it myself?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
Looking after it afterwards
Nothing complicated is needed:
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
