Bath re-enamelling for Wartnaby homes

Why repair rather than replace?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Nothing else is disturbed. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • No extra charge for your area

Bath re-enamelling in Wartnaby without replacing anything

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. Typical jobs include lots of chips and rust spots and a roll-top that’s seen better days, on acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and cast iron baths.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

How it works

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a full day, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

How to get a price

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Have chips seen to early
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
  • Never use suction bath mats
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

What affects the price in Wartnaby

Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How many areas need work

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Any details about the material
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Natural light rather than flash

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Wartnaby questions

Will the new finish last?

That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

What happens if you find more damage?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.

How long is the bath unusable?

One day for most baths, ready the following day. We give you timings with the quote.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Honest limits

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • A bath split right through the body
  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Leicestershire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Common problems we fix in Wartnaby

Often the bath has just had decades of use, with nothing wrong except the surface. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is normally as strong as ever.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A roll-top that’s seen better days
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • Chips and rust in more than one place

What your quote should include

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • How your room will be protected

10 questions to ask before booking

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.
