Trusted bath re-enamelling in Washingborough

Bath re-enamelling in Washingborough, done in place

Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. We regularly repair cast iron baths, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths, and the jobs we see most are stains that won’t shift and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

What we’re called out for in Washingborough

In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and gritty cleaners are the worst culprits.

Contact us if you’ve noticed:

  • Stains that won’t shift
  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • Lots of chips and rust spots

Questions to ask before booking

  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • What protection goes down before work starts

Our hiring checklist

Why repair rather than replace?

There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you’re refitting the entire room anyway. Otherwise, resurfacing typically wins. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Work done at your home or business
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • One price list for the entire UK

The process

We turn up when we said we would and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take most of the day, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Open a window if you can
  • Make sure the area is dry

Ask for a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

What a repair cannot fix

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • A bath split right through the body

Questions from Washingborough

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Do you cover Washingborough?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Washingborough for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Washingborough?

Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can you make a coloured bath white?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Do not leave a chip unrepaired
  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured

Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, do not use suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

What affects the price in Washingborough

Prices start from £350. We price every job individually, from your pictures. The main factors are:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Washingborough. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A photo taken from further back
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can give you a fixed price.
