Bath re-enamelling at your home in Welbourn

Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths. Nothing is disconnected or removed. Whether it’s a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and an old resurfacing that’s failing, we can generally put it right, on Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths alike.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Lincolnshire.

Questions from Welbourn

Do you cover Welbourn?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Welbourn for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes, most people go for white. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.

Will there be a smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send photos.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

What happens on the day

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take most of the day. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

What affects the price in Welbourn

Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The size and number of damaged areas

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any details about the material

For a price in Welbourn, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Can I fix it myself?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

For landlords and businesses

If you manage property in Welbourn, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Keeping it looking good

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Store bottles off the bath
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use

Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, because they can mark the finish. Repair dripping taps promptly.

Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface.

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath that is rusted through
  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
