What we are called out for in Wellow

Hard water speeds up the wear, and gritty cleaners are the worst culprits.

People normally call us when they notice something like this:

  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Stains that won’t shift
  • An old resurfacing that is failing
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring

What your quote should include

  • How the colour is matched
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • Who turns up on the day
  • How soon you can use it again

Our hiring checklist

Bath re-enamelling in Wellow without replacing anything

When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, resurfacing is normally the best value. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. Common call-outs are for a bath in a colour that no longer suits and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it, across pressed steel baths, cast iron baths and acrylic baths.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Wellow questions

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

What happens next?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

What does bath re-enamelling cost?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item and your postcode.

Will there be fumes?

Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Why repair rather than replace?

If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is typically much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s much quicker too. Prices start from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Why us?

  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • We leave the room as we found it

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple:

  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Store bottles off the bath

Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, particularly with hard water, and rinse off any bath products.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

What we do, step by step

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a full day, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the following day.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Wellow. What changes the price is:

  • The material
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many areas need work

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed price

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Something in shot to show the size

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
