Bath re-enamelling in Whiting Bay without replacing anything

A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. We are frequently asked to fix an outdated colour you’d like to change and staining under the taps and around the waste, in Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we will come back.

Can I fix it myself?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The type of damage
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Send pictures for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The material, if you know it

Send us photos of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Whiting Bay, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

How to look after the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away

Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.

If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

What a repair can’t fix

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

What we are called out for in Whiting Bay

Enamel wears gradually. Years of cleaning, hard water and hot baths dull the surface, starting where water runs and sits.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • An old resurfacing that’s failing
  • Several chips and rust patches
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough

What your quote should include

  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Our hiring checklist

Repair or replace: which is better?

When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Nothing else is disturbed. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Why Whiting Bay clients choose us

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • No extra charge for your area
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited

How the visit works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to a full day, including clearing up.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can normally be used the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
