What a repair cannot fix
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:
- A bath that is rusted through
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
How we handle bath re-enamelling in Wilton
After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, so we don’t cut corners on it. Common call-outs are for a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and a peeling or bubbling previous coating, across Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Wilton?
The gloss on enamel is thin, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.
Keep an eye out for any of the following:
- Wear marks under the taps
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
- Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating

Should you replace it?
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: they’re heavy, often need breaking up, and a new one is not cheap. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking.

How it works
You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take most of the day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know about parking or access
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The colour and finish to match
- What the surface is made of
- How much damage there is
What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
How to get a fixed quote
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- The material, if you know it
- Where you are, by postcode
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
Repairs by material
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
