Bath re-enamelling in Amesbury

Bath re-enamelling in Amesbury, done in place

We re-enamel a lot of period and roll-top baths, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. Typical jobs include several chips and rust patches and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it, across basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

FAQs for Amesbury

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

Generally, yes. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Amesbury.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Can you quote from photos?

Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Does the bath have to be removed?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so the tiles and taps stay put.

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

What we cannot put right

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
  • Holes rusted through the metal

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we work on in Amesbury

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take the best part of a day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s typically ready the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Amesbury

Older baths often have several problems at once: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • An old resurfacing that’s failing

10 questions to ask before you book

Why repair rather than replace?

A replacement frequently means several trades over several days. Resurfacing takes one technician and typically a day. Prices start from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why us?

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

Read our prices page and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Keeping it looking good

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Never use suction bath mats
  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale

Dry the bath after use if possible, particularly with hard water, and rinse off any bath products.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

Different materials, different repairs

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How much damage there is
  • The type of damage
  • Access to the area

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Amesbury. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.
