About our bath re-enamelling in Windermere

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. Common call-outs are for a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and lots of chips and rust spots, in pressed steel baths, cast iron baths and acrylic baths.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

FAQs for Windermere

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Can you change the colour of my bath?

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.

What does bath re-enamelling cost?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your LA23 postcode.

Can you quote from photos?

Usually, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

Usually, yes. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Aftercare tips

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Get any chip repaired quickly

Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, and rinse off any bath products.

Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take most of the day, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Advice

Repairing versus replacing in Windermere

When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Nothing else is disturbed. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why book with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • We leave the room as we found it

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Windermere. What changes the price is:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book.

How to get a fixed price

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

What we are called out for in Windermere

Older baths often have several problems at once: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Resurfacing sorts them out together.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • Lots of chips and rust spots
  • Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
