What we can’t put right
A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:
- A bath split right through the body
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.
Materials we repair
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
About our bath re-enamelling in Ynys-fach
Most baths are re-enamelled in a day, with the bath ready to use the following day. Nothing is disconnected or removed. Typical jobs include an original cast iron bath that needs restoring and wear marks under the taps, on cast iron baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- What kind of damage it is
- Doing more than one item at once
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Ynys-fach. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
How to get a fixed price
When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
Email us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Ynys-fach, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Landlord and trade work in Ynys-fach
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Looking after it afterwards
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, especially in hard water areas, and rinse off any bath products.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
Why repair rather than replace?
There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

What we do, step by step
We begin by going over the job with you. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. It normally takes the best part of a day, and we will tell you if anything changes.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
How to prepare
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
