Bath repair for Ashvale homes

Landlords, agents and businesses in Ashvale

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll arrange it.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Bath repair in Ashvale, done in place

It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. A repair stops both. Whether it’s damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and rust by the waste and overflow, we can help, on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel alike.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will come back.

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Looking after it afterwards

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Have new chips seen to early

Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.

Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so it pays to deal with it early.

Why repair rather than replace?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why book with us

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

See our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • What kind of damage it is

Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Getting a price from photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

If you are in Ashvale and want a price, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Common questions in Ashvale

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Will the repair last?

Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Ashvale?

Repairs from £95. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You’ll get a fixed figure before booking.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes, we match coloured baths too. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

Do you come to Ashvale?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Ashvale for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

What we cannot put right

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • A steel bath rusted through
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
