Trusted bath repair in Aust

Bath repair in Aust, done in place

A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. If you are dealing with a chip where the taps sit and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, we can help, whatever the material.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in South Gloucestershire.

Repairing versus replacing in Aust

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Honest limits

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

What we are called out for in Aust

Rust generally starts where water sits, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Once water reaches the steel or iron, rust spreads under the enamel.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Who will actually do the work
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

Choosing a repair company

What happens on the day

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for a few hours, depending on the damage. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Aust. What changes the price is:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Send photos for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Details of any past repairs
  • One picture of the whole bath

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Aust as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in South Gloucestershire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
