Bath repair in Barnes Cray, done in place
Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. Common call-outs are for a chip where the taps sit and snagging damage from a refit, in whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic.
Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

How to care for the repair
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

When a repair is not the answer
A repair is not right for every job, for example:
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How easy the damage is to reach
- What the surface is made of
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Quotes from your pictures
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:
- The material, if you know it
- Something in shot to show the size

When to call us in Barnes Cray
Baths take more knocks than people expect: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Over time, chips and rust spots are almost inevitable.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- Rust spots around the plughole
- Scuffs and scratches in the surface
- Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
What to look for in a quote
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- What aftercare is recommended
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- How long it needs to cure
Should you replace it?
For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
What you get with us
- One price list for the entire UK
- Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
- Normally one visit, start to finish
- A fixed quote before booking
See our pricing or bath cost comparison.
Can I fix it myself?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
How it works
You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the following day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Keep a parking space free if you can
Getting a price
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

What your bath is made of matters
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
