Trusted bath repair in Bishop's Park

Bath repair at your home in Bishop's Park

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. We work on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and the jobs we see most are rusty patches near the plughole and scratches you can feel with a fingernail.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Pembrokeshire.

How the visit works

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, usually by the next day, the bath is ready to use.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Questions from Bishop's Park

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Bishop's Park.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.

Will I be able to see the repair?

We aim for a repair you can’t easily find. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath, and we will tell you what to expect.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Normally, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Normally, yes, if we can reach behind it. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair is not right for every job, including:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot

Look after the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

A small chip is a quick job. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

Landlord and trade work in Bishop's Park

For anyone letting property in or around Bishop's Park, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • The material
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The size and number of damaged areas

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Getting a price from photos

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Common problems we fix in Bishop's Park

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • Chips under the taps
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Impact holes in acrylic

Comparing quotes

  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What prep work is covered

Our hiring checklist

Should you replace it?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the entire surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why us?

  • No need to remove anything
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • One visit for most repairs
