Bath repair in Bookham without replacing anything

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. We are often asked to fix deep scratches in acrylic and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, in cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Landlord and trade work in Bookham

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Access to the area
  • How much damage there is

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from pictures

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Email us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your DT2 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Bookham: your questions answered

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working.

When can I have a bath again?

Most baths can be used the next day. We confirm the time before we leave.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

What happens next?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Normally, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

Honest limits

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel

Should you replace it?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it’s done in one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Prices start from £95. Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Do you need bath repair in Bookham?

Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On enamelled baths, any chip down to the metal will start to rust.

People usually call us after spotting one of these:

  • Chips under the taps
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Chips on the rim or sides

How to compare quotes

What happens on the day

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job typically takes two to three hours for most chips. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Getting a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Take it off before we arrive.
