  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail

Bath repair at your home in Brandon

A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. Whether it’s chips under the taps and holes from dropped items, we can help, whatever the material.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Brandon as everywhere else we work.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it deals only with the damage in a single visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Brandon. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why book with us

  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

Landlord and trade work in Brandon

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Common questions in Brandon

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Regularly. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.

Do you come to Brandon?

Yes, we do. Repair technicians travel to Brandon from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Do the materials smell?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working.

When we’d advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Store metal items away from the bath

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

How the visit works

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to a few hours, including clearing up.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Open a window if you can
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
