Bath repair in Briery

Common problems we fix in Briery

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows.

People typically call us after spotting something like this:

  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • A chip where the taps sit
  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Chips on the rim or sides

What to look for in a quote

  • How the colour is matched
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • How long it needs to cure
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT

About our bath repair in Briery

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. We work on acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are impact holes in acrylic and hairline or through cracks in acrylic.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we will sort it.

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Briery questions

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Are there extra charges for Briery?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Do you cover the whole of Cumbria?

Everywhere in the UK, Briery included. Travel is included in the price.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

How it works

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a few hours, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Advice

What affects the price in Briery

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Briery. The price reflects:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Briery. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • What it’s made of, if you know

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Briery

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Briery use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

For anyone letting property in or around Briery, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will price them together.

Why repair rather than replace?

People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it doesn’t: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why us?

  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • No need to remove anything
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
