Bath repair in Burland without replacing anything

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, is repaired in place. Nothing is unplumbed, the tiles are not touched, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. Whether it’s snagging damage from a refit and impact holes in acrylic, we can usually put it right.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

Repair or replace in Burland?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

When we’d advise against a repair

We won’t take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Burland

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

How the visit works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the following day.

How to prepare

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Advice

How to look after the repair

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath

Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.

Burland questions

Is repairing better than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Are there extra charges for Burland?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

What do you need from me?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You will get a fixed quote back, normally with dates to choose from. You are under no obligation.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including pastel and older colours.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

When to call us in Burland

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Snagging damage from a refit

Our hiring checklist

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Burland. The price comes down to:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How much damage there is

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Burland. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The material, if you know it
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll say right away whether it can be repaired.
