Bath repair in Cadley without replacing anything

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are chips along the edge of the bath and chips caused by builders.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Questions from Cadley

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we have done.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes, very frequently. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

What information do you need?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

Signs you need bath repair in Cadley

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • Rust by the waste and overflow

What affects the price in Cadley

Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • Access to the area
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many areas need work
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

Phone photos are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The material, if you know it
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Repairing versus replacing in Cadley

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • One price list for the whole UK
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Read our prices page and bath cost comparison.

What we do, step by step

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips, tidy-up included.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Ask for a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Cadley

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Cadley as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
