  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Cardiff

If you manage property in Cardiff, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we’ll price them together.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Common problems we fix in Cardiff

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Chips under the taps
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • Holes from dropped items

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

What affects the price in Cardiff

Prices start from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material
  • How many areas need work

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from photos

You can take the pictures on your phone. Make sure they show:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The material, if you know it
  • One picture of the entire bath

Most customers in Cardiff get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Your questions about bath repair in Cardiff

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Cardiff.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Generally, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.

Are there extra charges for Cardiff?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. A repair deals only with the damage in one visit. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

What we do, step by step

On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take two to three hours for most chips. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

How to get a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
