How bath repair works in CF5
We see every kind of bath damage: dropped-bottle chips, plughole rust, acrylic cracks and impact holes. All of it is repaired where the bath stands. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are rust by the waste and overflow and a chipped rim or side.
Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for two to three hours for most chips from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and how to care for it.
- First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
Prices in CF5
Our bath repair starts from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for CF5. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Should you replace it?
Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is often needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that.
Questions to ask before you book
- Who turns up on the day
- How soon you can use it again
- How changes to the job are handled
- What aftercare is recommended
What we’re called out for in CF5
Baths take more knocks than people expect: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- Rust spots around the plughole
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- A chip where the taps sit
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:
- The material
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How hard the colour is to match
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Quotes from your photos
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A picture taken from further back
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
If you’re in CF5 and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
