Trusted worktop repair in Cardiff

How we price worktop repair

Repairs from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Access to the area
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Doing more than one item at once

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send pictures for a quote

Phone photos are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the worktop, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Worktop repair in Cardiff, done in place

Different worktops need different repairs: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. We regularly repair solid wood, quartz and solid surface (such as Corian), and people most often call us about chips in quartz or granite and a heat mark or burn.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

FAQs for Cardiff

What does worktop repair cost?

Repairs from £95. We give a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your CF14 postcode.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole worktop and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. The old repair comes out first.

Will the repair match a patterned worktop?

Colour, flecks and veins are recreated by hand, for a repair that blends in.

When we’d advise against a repair

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
  • A top that moves on its units

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Repairs by material

Wood

Wooden worktops can be sanded, filled and re-oiled, and burns and dents repaired.

Laminate

A laminate worktop is a thin decorative layer on a board. We fill damage and paint in the pattern by hand.

What we do, step by step

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a few hours, depending on the damage in most cases. We leave the room clean.

  1. We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
  2. Burnt or loose material is cut back.
  3. We fill and shape the damaged area.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Aftercare tips

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Take care with heavy pans near edges
  • Clean spills immediately
  • Don’t let water sit on joints
  • Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz

Always use a trivet and chopping board, wipe up spills promptly, and re-oil wooden worktops regularly.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.

Should you replace it?

Even a single new length of worktop means templating, cutting and refitting the sink and hob. A repair is a few hours with everything left in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
