Work for landlords and builders
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Barnsley and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Bath repair in Carlecotes, done in place
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. Most baths can be used again the following day. Typical jobs include rust by the waste and overflow and chips along the edge of the bath, on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

How the visit works
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes two to three hours for most chips. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
Ask for a price
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or ring us. We will say right away if a repair is the right fix.

Can I fix it myself?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
When we’d advise against a repair
We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Should you replace it?
People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. Normally it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.
What we’re called out for in Carlecotes
Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, any chip down to the metal lets water in, and rust follows.
You may need us if you’ve spotted:
- Rust spots around the plughole
- A chipped rim or side
- Impact holes in acrylic
- A cracked acrylic bath
Questions to ask before booking

What happens next?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.
How soon can you come?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Generally the day after. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
Is a bath repair permanent?
Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps it last.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
