Bath repair in Catslip

Bath repair at your home in Catslip

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. If you’re dealing with snagging damage from a refit and a chipped rim or side, we can generally put it right, on acrylic, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths alike.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Questions from Catslip

Will the repair last?

Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so we need access under the bath.

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Normally. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Catslip. What changes the price is:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The type of damage

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Catslip. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One picture of the whole bath

Send us a picture of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Catslip, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why us?

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

How it works

We begin by going over the job with you. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. Allow a few hours, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Looking after it afterwards

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Rinse it down after each bath

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.

Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Catslip

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

What a repair cannot fix

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
