Bath repair in Chicksands, done in place
Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the day after. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. Common call-outs are for impact holes in acrylic and snagging damage from a refit, on whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

Repair or replace in Chicksands?
A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is often needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Prices start from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Why Chicksands customers choose us
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- Honest advice, even when it means no job

Your questions about bath repair in Chicksands
How long does the repair take to cure?
Generally within a day, though it depends on what we’ve done.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
What areas do you cover?
Everywhere in the UK, Chicksands included. There’s no extra charge for travel.
Do the materials smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work.
Is there a guarantee?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.
What happens after I send photos?
We review the pictures and send a fixed quote with dates.
Can you redo an old repair?
Yes, we do this frequently. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.
Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?
Yes, we match coloured baths too. We tint the finish to your bath on site.
When we’d advise against a repair
Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
What we work on
- Cast iron enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Pressed steel enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
What we do, step by step
Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

For landlords and businesses
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How many areas need work
- The material
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Chicksands. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
How to get a fixed price
Two or three clear photos are usually enough. It helps if you send:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
Upload pictures of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Chicksands, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Repairs by material
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.
