How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The material and finish
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- Whether we combine several jobs
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Chipstable. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Quotes from your pictures
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:
- Natural light rather than flash
- One picture of the entire bath
- Where you are, by postcode
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.
Bath repair in Chipstable without replacing anything
Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it’s level with the surrounding surface. Whether it’s damage beneath the taps and a kit repair that didn’t last, we can normally put it right, on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths alike.
Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Can I fix it myself?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
For landlords and businesses
Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Somerset and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
Repair or replace in Chipstable?
A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Chipstable: your questions answered
Do you come to Chipstable?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Chipstable and the rest of Somerset. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Do I have to be there?
We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.
Can you match an avocado or pink bath?
Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including pastel and older colours.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Will the price change on the day?
We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
What about rust by the waste?
Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Is a bath repair permanent?
A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps it last.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before.
The process
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
Ask for a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
Related advice
Looking after it afterwards
So the finish stays in good condition:
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Do not scrub with anything abrasive
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
When we would advise against a repair
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.
