How we handle bath repair in Clarborough

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Common call-outs are for impact holes in acrylic and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, across acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

Repairing versus replacing in Clarborough

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is often needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Our bath repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Landlord and trade work in Clarborough

If you manage property in Clarborough, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we’ll price them together.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit.

The process

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow two to three hours for most chips from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, typically by the day after, the bath is ready to use.

Before we arrive

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Honest limits

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Clarborough

  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel

Looking after it afterwards

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Clarborough. The price reflects:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The size and number of damaged areas

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Getting a price from pictures

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can price the job.

Do you need bath repair in Clarborough?

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

People normally call us after spotting one of these:

  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Chips on the rim or sides

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • What prep work is covered
