Bath repair at your home in Claregate
A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and the bath is back in use the following day. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. If you’re dealing with rust spots around the plughole and chips along the edge of the bath, we can help, on acrylic, pressed steel enamel and roll-top & freestanding alike.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

What we can’t put right
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- A steel bath rusted through
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Cast iron enamel
- Acrylic
What we’re called out for in Claregate
Damage during fitting is very common. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, and the damage is not always spotted until later. Snagging repairs like these are a regular job for us.
Look out for any of the following:
- Snagging damage from a refit
- Chips under the taps
- A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
- Rusty patches near the plughole
Before you book anyone
- Who will actually do the work
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
- Whether the colour is mixed to match

How the visit works
We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes two to three hours for most chips. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.
How to prepare
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Point us to the nearest place to park

Repair or replace: which is better?
Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Prices start from £95. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.
Why book with us
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- Same prices wherever you are

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
Your questions about bath repair in Claregate
Can you repair a hole in a bath?
Generally, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.
What happens after I send photos?
You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.
Will the repair show?
The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath.
How long before I can use the bath?
Usually within a day, though it depends on what we’ve done.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Is there any odour?
There can be some smell while we work. It fades as everything cures.
What does bath repair cost?
Prices start from £95. We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your WV6 postcode.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
What affects the price in Claregate
Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Claregate. What changes the price is:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The size and number of damaged areas
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.
Quotes from your photos
Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:
- Details of any past repairs
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
Email us pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Claregate, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Aftercare tips
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Store metal items away from the bath
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so early repair keeps the cost down.
