Trusted bath repair in Cleehill

Bath repair in Cleehill, done in place

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Common call-outs are for damage beneath the taps and cracks in an acrylic bath, across acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel.

All our work comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Shropshire.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a fitted bath normally means a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Prices start from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Cleehill. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • The type of damage
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What the surface is made of

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Getting a price from photos

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Cleehill: your questions answered

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes, very often. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Are there extra charges for Cleehill?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Is a bath repair permanent?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.

When we would advise against a repair

A repair is not right for every job, including:

  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Do you need bath repair in Cleehill?

Rust tends to begin where water collects, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • A cracked acrylic bath

Choosing a repair company

The process

We turn up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.

A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.
