How we handle bath repair in Coedffranc

Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, typically in a single visit. Typical jobs include damage beneath the taps and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting, on cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and acrylic.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will come back.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

FAQs for Coedffranc

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Do you come to Coedffranc?

We do. We send a technician to Coedffranc for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Can you redo an old repair?

Regularly. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

In most cases. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

When we would advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Landlord and trade work in Coedffranc

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Repairing versus replacing in Coedffranc

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim generally crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

The process

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job usually takes a few hours. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the following day.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. There is no charge for travel to Coedffranc. The price depends on:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The material and finish
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many areas need work

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from photos

You can take the pictures on your phone. Ensure they show:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The material, if you know it

10 questions to ask before you book

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
