How we handle bath repair in Connaught Village

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. We are frequently asked to fix snagging damage from a refit and chips along the edge of the bath, in roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Common problems we fix in Connaught Village

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On steel and cast iron baths, any chip down to the metal will start to rust.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Chips caused by builders
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath

What your quote should include

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How to look after the finish
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • What happens if they find more damage

10 questions to ask before you book

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one usually means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Why book with us

  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Your questions about bath repair in Connaught Village

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Will I be able to see the repair?

On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.

When can you do it?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.

Is a bath repair durable?

Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.

What happens on the day

We begin by going over the job with you. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

How to get a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water cannot get in. Remove it before the repair.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Connaught Village. The price depends on:

  • The type of damage
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many areas need work

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One picture of the whole bath

Email us photos of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Connaught Village, and we will reply with a fixed price.

For landlords and businesses

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

For anyone letting property in or around Connaught Village, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we’ll price them together.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
