Need bath repair in Copdock?

How we handle bath repair in Copdock

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. We regularly repair roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel, and people most frequently call us about chips caused by builders and a hole punched through by something heavy.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Copdock as everywhere else we work.

Work for landlords and builders

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Copdock questions

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Suffolk.

Will the repair show?

On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

Is a bath repair durable?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

How much does bath repair cost in Copdock?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

In most cases. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Repair or replace in Copdock?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Our bath repair starts from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

What happens on the day

We begin by going over the job with you. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. It normally takes a few hours.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic

What we are called out for in Copdock

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose

Questions to ask before you book

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • When it can be used again
  • Who turns up on the day
  • How to look after the finish

Our hiring checklist

What affects the price in Copdock

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Getting a price from photos

Two or three clear pictures are generally enough. It helps if you send:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Any details about the material

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Keeping it looking good

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

A repaired bath needs no special treatment, beyond gentle cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and give it a rinse after each bath.

Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
