How we handle bath repair in Corston

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and the bath is back in use the next day. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most often call us about damage beneath the taps and hairline or through cracks in acrylic.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Your questions about bath repair in Corston

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

How do I book?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

What does bath repair cost?

Prices start from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You will get a fixed figure before booking.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Prices start from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Corston. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why Corston clients choose us

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

What we cannot put right

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • A steel bath rusted through

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel

Looking after it afterwards

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Remove it before the repair.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What affects the price in Corston

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Getting a price from photos

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. It helps if you send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

What we do, step by step

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

How to prepare

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
