Questions from Englishcombe
Do you work in Englishcombe?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Englishcombe and the rest of Bath and North East Somerset. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
How do I book?
Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.
Can you repair a hole in a bath?
In most cases. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
Will I be able to see the repair?
On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.
Are you accredited?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
What happens if you find more damage?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.
Bath repair in Englishcombe without replacing anything
We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Typical jobs include impact holes in acrylic and deep scratches in acrylic, in acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Why repair rather than replace?
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

When we would advise against a repair
We won’t take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
Surfaces we repair
- Acrylic
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
- Cast iron enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
What we do, step by step
Arrival times are agreed in advance. On site, it takes a morning or an afternoon for most jobs. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the day after.
Before we arrive
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
Ask for a price
There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
Advice
When to call us in Englishcombe
Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows.
If you can see any of these, send us a picture:
- A chip where the taps sit
- Scuffs and scratches in the surface
- Chips caused by builders
- Holes from dropped items
What your quote should include
- How your room will be protected
- Aftercare advice
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- How long it needs to cure
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. What matters most is:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.
Send pictures for a quote
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:
- Any details about the material
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Something in shot to show the size
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.
What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.
Can I fix it myself?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
