About our bath repair in Curload
We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. Most baths can be used again the next day. Common call-outs are for cracks in an acrylic bath and rusty patches near the plughole, across cast iron enamel, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Repair or replace: which is better?
A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

FAQs for Curload
Can you price it without visiting?
In nearly every case. If pictures don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
Can landlords book you?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Typically within a day, though it depends on what we’ve done.
Can you repair a failed DIY repair?
Yes, we do this frequently. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.
What happens next?
We review the pictures and send a fixed quote with dates.
Do you cover Curload?
We do. Repair technicians travel to Curload from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
For landlords and businesses
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Aftercare tips
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust sets in.
Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.

The process
Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes two to three hours for most chips, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- We leave it to cure; you can normally use the bath the next day.
How to prepare
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Let the surface dry out before the visit

Can I fix it myself?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
