Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We look at:

  • The material and finish
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How much damage there is

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed price

Phone pictures are fine. Just ensure we can see:

  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any details about the material

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

How the visit works

On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes two to three hours for most chips. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Ask for a price

Email us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your DL13 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Repairing versus replacing in Daddry Shield

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Our bath repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why book with us

  • Colour-matched on site
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Normally one visit, start to finish
  • One price list for the whole UK

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly

There is nothing special to do after a repair, beyond gentle cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.

Our hiring checklist

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
