Bath repair in Dam Side

Bath repair in Dam Side without replacing anything

Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all repaired in place, normally in one visit. We regularly repair acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most often call us about rust by the waste and overflow and holes from dropped items.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Signs you need bath repair in Dam Side

Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Chips caused by builders
  • A chipped rim or side

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • What protection goes down before work starts

Choosing a repair company

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Unusual colours or finishes

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from photos

Phone photos are fine. Ensure they show:

  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • What it’s made of, if you know

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

What happens on the day

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. Allow a morning or an afternoon, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Advice

Your questions about bath repair in Dam Side

Do you come to Dam Side?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Dam Side and the rest of Lancashire. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Normally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Usually, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

How do I book?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Usually, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

Should you replace it?

Think about the hidden costs of a new bath: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Prices start from £95. Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why us?

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Work done at your home or business
  • No extra charge for your area

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Looking after it afterwards

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, because they can mark the enamel. And fix dripping taps promptly.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Dam Side

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.
