About our bath repair in Dringhoe

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and you can generally bathe again the next day. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. If you’re dealing with hairline or through cracks in acrylic and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, we can help.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Before and after: a chipped, rust-stained bath around the plughole

How the visit works

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a few hours, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Open a window if you can

Advice

Landlords, agents and businesses in Dringhoe

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

If you manage property in Dringhoe, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we will come back with a combined price.

Why repair rather than replace?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why Dringhoe customers choose us

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Typically one visit, start to finish

See our full price list or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Dringhoe. The price reflects:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How many areas need work
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Unusual colours or finishes

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking.

Send pictures for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • The material, if you know it
  • Natural light rather than flash

If you are in Dringhoe and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

What we cannot put right

We won’t take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

Common questions in Dringhoe

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Will the repair last?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

What information do you need?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Normally the following day. We confirm the time before we leave.
