Bath repair in Dunfermline without replacing anything

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. Most baths can be used again the day after. Whether it’s a chipped rim or side and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, we can usually put it right.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Questions from Dunfermline

Do you charge for travel?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we will plan for it.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes, we do this frequently. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Is a bath repair permanent?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Will the repair show?

On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Fife and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Unusual colours or finishes

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • What it’s made of, if you know

We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Have new chips seen to early

There is nothing special to do after a repair, beyond gentle cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams and rinse after use.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Repair or replace in Dunfermline?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

How the visit works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which typically takes two to three hours for most chips. If anything looks different from your pictures, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

What a repair cannot fix

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.
