How we handle bath repair in Dunmurry
Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the next day. You will not need a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We work on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths, and the jobs we see most are snagging damage from a refit and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting.
You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

- Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and replacing like for like isn’t cheap. A repair keeps it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Dunmurry questions
Can you repair several things at once?
Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Can you redo an old repair?
Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
Will it make a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.
Can rust on a bath be repaired?
Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?
Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.
Different materials, different repairs
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
When to call us in Dunmurry
The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and building work is a common culprit. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- Chips under the taps
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- Snagging damage from a refit
- Rusty patches near the plughole
Before booking anyone
- How soon you can use it again
- If travel is included in the price
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- What aftercare is recommended
How it works
Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. Allow two to three hours for most chips.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.
How to prepare
- Clear the area around the damage
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Advice
Should I try a DIY kit first?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
Work for landlords and builders
For anyone letting property in or around Dunmurry, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we’ll price them together.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.
How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How much damage there is
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The type of damage
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Dunmurry. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
How to get a fixed quote
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:
- Something in shot to show the size
- One picture of the whole bath
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- The material, if you know it
Most clients in Dunmurry get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
