Common questions in Earnock
Do you come to Earnock?
Yes, we do. We send a technician to Earnock for every job, with no extra charge for travel.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.
Which areas do you work in?
Everywhere in the UK, Earnock included. There’s no extra charge for travel.
Do you repair coloured baths?
Yes, coloured baths are no problem. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Most baths can be used the day after. We’ll tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?
Yes, we do this frequently. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
About our bath repair in Earnock
A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. Our repair technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day. Common call-outs are for impact holes in acrylic and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting, in pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.
You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

Common problems we fix in Earnock
Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, closely followed by shower heads. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.
Get in touch if you’ve noticed:
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- A kit repair that didn’t last
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
- Chips on the rim or sides

Different materials, different repairs
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.
When we’d advise against a repair
In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:
- How many items we do on one visit
- How much damage there is
- What the surface is made of
- The colour and finish to match
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Earnock. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Getting a price from photos
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Any details about the material
We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
What happens on the day
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage, including clearing up.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Advice
Repair or replace: which is better?
A new bath costs more than the bath itself: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Keeping it looking good
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
A repaired bath needs no special treatment. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners.
Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so early repair keeps the cost down.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
