Bath repair at your home in East Stoke

Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all repaired in place, generally in a single visit. Our technicians work on pressed steel enamel, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths, and the jobs we see most are scratches you can feel with a fingernail and chips under the taps.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in East Stoke as everywhere else we work.

Should you replace it?

People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it doesn’t: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why us?

  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • No extra charge for your area

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • How much damage there is
  • The material
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The material, if you know it
  • Where you are, by postcode

If you’re in East Stoke and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

What we do, step by step

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to two to three hours for most chips, tidy-up included.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

When a repair is not the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A steel bath rusted through

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Common questions in East Stoke

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Frequently, if there’s access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Do you come to East Stoke?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to East Stoke and the rest of Dorset. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including East Stoke and the rest of Dorset. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

How to care for the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Rinse it down after each bath

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

For anyone letting property in or around East Stoke, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.
