Bath repair at your home in Eastbury

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Our technicians work on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel, and people most often call us about cracks in an acrylic bath and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

Signs you need bath repair in Eastbury

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

Look out for these signs:

  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • Holes from dropped items
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • A chipped rim or side

10 questions to ask before you book

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in West Berkshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Eastbury questions

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Most baths can be used the next day. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

Normally. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including pastel and older colours.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Looking after it afterwards

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Should you replace it?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take two to three hours for most chips, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
