Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

How we handle bath repair in Eastfield
We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Common call-outs are for a hole punched through by something heavy and damage beneath the taps, in cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths.
Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

For landlords and businesses
For anyone letting property in or around Eastfield, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Aftercare tips
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.
Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.
Why repair rather than replace?
When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and the bathroom stays as it is. Where the entire surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- Doing more than one item at once
- The material
- How hard the colour is to match
- How much damage there is
There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Send photos for a quote
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A photo taken from further back
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
Eastfield: your questions answered
Can you quote from pictures?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
Will the repair last?
Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps it last.
Will there be a smell?
There can be some smell while we work. It fades as everything cures.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
Typically, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
The process
When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job generally takes a few hours. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.
Getting ready for the visit
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
